Mini Cheddar Soft Pretzels

There are so many things about soft pretzels that make them the perfect snack. They're savoury, salty and dippable, what more could you possibly want? This recipe adds a little twist of cheddar to the traditional soft pretzel, giving them an extra layer of savoury cheesy goodness. This recipe requires minimal ingredients and incredibly easy to make with pantry staples.


Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. sea salt plus more for sprinkling

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

2 tsp. unsalted butter

2/3 cup milk

1 tsp. sugar

1 egg, beaten

** Makes 8 mini pretzels


Requires

1 baking sheet

1 mixing bowl

Parchment paper


Directions

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. and line a baking sheet with parchment paper

2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder

3. Mix in butter until a crumbly dough is formed, then mix in milk cheese and then milk until a moist dough is formed

4. Knead dough 10-15 times on a lightly floured surface

5. Divide dough into 8 equally sized balls, give or take, then thinly roll out and twist dough to form pretzel shapes

6. Place on baking sheet, brush with egg wash and sprinkle with salt

7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until browned

8. Enjoy!
